Privacy Policy

Mindthreads, a series of Lemonberry Labs LLC, a Delaware series limited liability company, makes the Mindthreads app and operates this website. This policy describes the information each of them handles.

In short: the Mindthreads app has no account and no analytics. Your threads stay on your Mac, or in a database you choose, and are never sent to us. This website counts visits with privacy-friendly analytics that use no cookies.

The Mindthreads app

• Your threads: the text, structure, positions and timestamps of your threads are stored in a SQLite file in ~/Library/Application Support/Mindthreads on your Mac, or in a Postgres database you configure. If you use Postgres, your threads go to that database and to whoever operates it, not to us.
• Settings and logs: your settings and the app’s log file are stored in the same folder on your Mac. They stay there unless you choose to send them to someone, for example with a support request.
• No analytics or crash reporting: the app does not collect usage statistics, crash reports or identifiers, and has no account or sign-in.
• Update checks: while Check for updates automatically is on (the default), the app downloads a small file describing the latest version from GitHub at launch and every six hours. When you install an update, it downloads the new version from GitHub. These requests contain no identifier of you or your threads, but GitHub receives your IP address and standard request details, as with any download, and handles them under the GitHub General Privacy Statement. You can turn automatic checks off in Settings.
• AI agents: the app runs a server that accepts connections only from programs on your Mac. An AI agent you connect to it over MCP can read and change your threads. If that agent uses an online model, the text it reads may be sent to that model’s provider under that provider’s terms and privacy policy. Nothing is shared with an agent unless you connect it.

This website

• Hosting: this website is hosted by Vercel, which processes information such as IP addresses, browser details and request logs to deliver and secure the site.
• Release information and downloads: to show the latest version, your browser requests release details from GitHub’s API, and the download buttons fetch the app from GitHub. GitHub receives your IP address and standard request details for these requests.
• Analytics: we use Vercel Web Analytics to understand how the site is used. It collects page views, referring pages, approximate location, and browser and device information for aggregate statistics, without cookies and without tracking you across websites. See Vercel’s analytics privacy documentation.
• No cookies or advertising: this website sets no cookies, uses no advertising trackers, and stores nothing in your browser.
• Messages: if you email us, we use what you send to respond and resolve your request.

Sharing

We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Apart from messages you send us, the information we receive is limited to the aggregate website statistics described above; the service providers named above process request information to provide their services. We may disclose information when legally required, to protect people or the service, or as part of a business transfer, subject to applicable protections.

Retention and security

Threads, settings and logs on your Mac stay until you delete them; deleting the Mindthreads folder in ~/Library/Application Support removes them. We keep emails you send us as long as needed to handle your request and meet legal obligations. Hosting providers keep request logs for limited periods under their own policies. We use reasonable safeguards, but no system can guarantee absolute security.

Your choices and rights

Because your threads are not sent to us, you control them directly: you can change or delete them in the app, or in the SQLite file or database that holds them. For questions about information we hold, such as your emails to us, or to request access, correction or deletion, email website-inquiry@lemonberrylabs.com and mention Mindthreads. We may need to verify your identity, and we respond as required by applicable law.

Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to object to or restrict processing and to complain to your local data protection authority. Where applicable, we process information to respond to you, for legitimate interests such as security, or to comply with law. Providers may process information in the United States or other countries; applicable transfer protections apply where required.

Children

Mindthreads is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child under 13 has sent us information, contact us so we can delete it.
