Mindthreads is a Mac app and this website, operated by Mindthreads, a series of Lemonberry Labs LLC, a Delaware series limited liability company (“we,” “us,” or “our”). These terms cover the app, its updates and this website. By downloading, installing or using Mindthreads, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use it.
Who can use Mindthreads
You must be at least 13 and legally able to agree to these terms. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you need a parent or guardian’s permission, and they must agree to these terms on your behalf. If you use Mindthreads for an organization, you agree to these terms for that organization and confirm you are authorized to do so.
Your license
Mindthreads is currently free. We grant you a limited, personal, nonexclusive, nontransferable, revocable license to install and run the app on Macs you own or control, for personal use or for your internal business use. We and our licensors keep all rights in the app, the website, the Mindthreads name and branding, and the software, except the license granted here.
You may not sell, rent or sublicense the app; distribute modified copies or present them as ours; remove notices of ownership; or reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble it except where the law allows this despite this restriction. Software from third parties included in the app is provided under its own license terms, which apply to that software.
Your threads and your data
What you write in Mindthreads is yours. The app stores it in a SQLite file on your Mac, or in a Postgres database you configure. We do not host it and cannot see, recover or restore it. You are responsible for backing up your data and for the security of any database you connect the app to. Our Privacy Policy explains what information the app and this website handle.
AI agents and other services you connect
Mindthreads runs a server on your Mac that AI agents and other programs can connect to over the Model Context Protocol (MCP). An agent you connect can read, create, change, complete and delete your threads. You decide which agents to connect and are responsible for what they do. Agents, databases and other services you use with Mindthreads are provided by third parties under their own terms, and we are not responsible for them.
Updates and availability
The app can check for new versions and, when you choose to install one, download and install it. Features may change or be removed between versions. We may stop publishing new versions or stop providing downloads at any time. Some builds may not yet be notarized by Apple; macOS will then ask you to confirm before opening them.
Acceptable use
Do not use Mindthreads or this website to break the law, infringe anyone’s rights, or interfere with or attempt unauthorized access to our systems, the website or the release downloads. We may revoke your license if you violate these terms.
No warranties; limited liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Mindthreads and this website are provided “as is” and “as available,” without express or implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and noninfringement. We do not guarantee that the app will be error-free, that it will not lose data, or that it will be compatible with every Mac, macOS version, database or agent.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data or goodwill, arising from use of or inability to use Mindthreads or this website. Our total liability for claims relating to Mindthreads, this website or these terms will not exceed the greater of US $50 or the amount you paid us for Mindthreads in the preceding 12 months. These limits apply regardless of the legal theory and do not exclude liability or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Series LLC structure
Your agreement is with the Mindthreads series of Lemonberry Labs LLC. Subject to the requirements and limitations of Delaware law, including 6 Del. C. § 18-215, obligations of the Mindthreads series are enforceable only against its assets, not those of Lemonberry Labs LLC generally or another series. Obligations of the company generally or of other series are not enforceable against the assets of the Mindthreads series. Nothing here creates a guarantee by another series or limits rights that applicable law does not allow us to limit.
Law and changes
Delaware law governs these terms, except where mandatory local law applies. Disputes may be brought in the state or federal courts in Delaware, subject to any mandatory rights to bring a claim elsewhere. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining terms continue to apply.
We may update these terms by posting a revised version and date on this page. For material changes, we will also note the change in the release notes of the next version of the app before it takes effect. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated terms.
